Abstract: Dipyramids and deltohedra designed in the software Poly. The teaching of knowledge about solid geometry is considered a difficult topic of school geometry. This is due to several factors. The didactical approach of the teacher, that provides the subject matter to the students, can be considered as one of the significant factors. The presented didactical elaboration of the subject matter about dipyramids and deltohedra is using the educational software Poly.

Abstract: Tessellations with polygons in teacher’s math education for pre-primary and primary school. Tessellation or tiling of the plane is a configuration of plane geometric shapes that fills the plane without gaps and without overlaps. We describe elementary theoretical principles in the creation of simple tessellations from polygons in our paper. We accent applications from regular polygons and their using in the teacher’s math education for pre-primary and primary schools. The main goal of the creation of practice tiling exercises is to recognize math (geometrical) basis of tessellations, extend math skills of our students and to teach to use their competence in math education in pre-primary and primary school.

Abstract: Tasks about the chosen polyhedra with the evaluated faces. The aim of this paper is to show some types of tasks that a pupil is not familiar with but are quite interesting and it is expected to involve geometric spatial imagination skills to solve them. In these tasks are used models of regular hexahedron and dodecahedron.
Keywords: tasks, the model of regular hexahedron, the model of regular dodecahedron

Abstract: Motivation video with basic components of Integrated e-Learning. One possibility of attracting attention of pupils, and/or increasing their interest in the delivered subject matter in physics, is by using a motivation video in education. The contribution shows, on a specific example, how the motivation homemade video “Little Einsteins” can be used within the framework of a new education strategy – Integrated e-Learning (INTe-L) in science and technology education. This strategy is composed of three basic components: a real laboratory experiments, real remote and virtual experiments and e-educational materials. The video was placed on the Internet on April 29, 2010 and till December 11, 2011 it has shown 2434 approaches.

Abstract: Measurement of thermal expansion of aluminium – project. In this paper we present the project “Measurement of thermal expansion of aluminium.” This measurement was realized by means of computer-based experiment. The original experimental apparatus from the firm NTL was supplemented by the module of the thermometer from Internet School Experimental System (ISES) and digital indicator from the firm Mahr. Via the measurement we found out that the resulting value of the thermal expansion of aluminium nearly coincides with the table values.

Abstract: Project-based education in the thematic unit “Energy in the nature, technology and society” via integrated e-learning in the physics versus traditional way of teaching. The contribution presents the partial results achieved in the pedagogical research realized during school years 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 in the field of Physics at the 9th grade at two Slovak primary schools. The goal was to verify the efficiency of the use of new strategy of education – integrated e-learning (INTe-L) by means of project-based education for the topic “Energy in the nature, technology and society”. This new strategy of education, based mainly on observation and experiment (real, real remote and virtual), together with projected-based education has shown to be a good motivating and activating way of physics teaching and understanding phenomena of the real world around us.

Abstract: Basis for the Implementation of Integrated e-Learning to Science Education. In the paper we deal with the education reform in general and in science education in particular. We introduce several inquiry-based methods. One of these methods is the strategy of integrated e-Learning. We prove the applicability of this strategy within the education reform.

Abstract: Teaching Tool for primary and secondary school education with remote experiments utilisation. The paper presents multimedia teaching tool, designed and created for the implementation of the real remote experiments into teaching-learning processes both for the primary (PS) and the secondary school education (SS). First part of the Multimedia teaching tool provides access to the teaching courses, their creation and editation. This part offers five created courses: Temperature Measurement (PS), Simple pendulum (PS & SS), Free fall, and Data Package Assessment (SS). Second part is focused on testing students’ knowledge. Self-creation and editation of tests is available in this second part too. The utilizations, acceptance of this interactive tool in education processes and the evaluation of its effectiveness according to the students’ results improvement are analysed and presented in conclusion of the article.

Abstract: Active Learning Environment Creation for Teaching Programming. The paper deals with methods and demands of creating an active learning environment. Instead of students’ casting into the role of passive listeners, active learning techniques strive to engage learners in reading, writing, discussing and doing activity connecting the learners with study subject. The main aim of this paper is to introduce the reader to the fundamentals of active learning through some examples of animations, interactive simulations and student’s response system, which have been implemented in secondary level teaching process of the subject Programming. The gain results are discussed.

Abstract: The New Model of Teaching Programming at the Faculty of Education TU. Teaching programming is an area that must constantly seek new solutions. Even at our faculty (PdF TU), we decided to upgrade this process. Over the years, several changes were made and the process of innovation is not over yet. There are not only technical changes, but mainly conceptual. We focus on an introductory programming course – two-term course in the first year of study. Teaching programming is currently supported by Java at our faculty, which means that we do not declare the pure Java teaching. In the classroom we use a set of classes developed (graphic robot [1]) and the tool BlueJ [2] that was designed for the purpose of teaching Java. The set of classes is part of a new model recently implemented at our faculty.
