education in school club Veronika Javorská Katedra
pedagogických štúdií, Pedagogická fakulta, Trnavská univerzita v Trnave Priemyselná
4, 918 43 Trnava Abstract: The
article demonstrates theoretical basis and programme of inclusive education of pupils with disabilities.
The programme of inclusive education was undertaken in primary school children club with seat
in the Vrbové district in
SR. The author points out the
pupils’ preparation in their free time
for the encounter with the visual and hearing impaired pupils. Based on gathered facts and authentication of the forementioned programme, it would be
adequate for the programme to become part of informal education in school clubs. It is necessary
for educators to be prepared to work in inclusive community because their work is
inevitable for relationship’s amelioration among intact pupils and pupils with disabilities. Key words: visual disability, hearing disability, inclusion, leisure time, programme of inclusive education |
MLADÍ ĽUDIA V POSTMODERNE
Young people
in postmodern times Peter Lenčo Katedra
pedagogických štúdií, Pedagogická fakulta, Trnavská univerzita v Trnave Priemyselná
4, 918 43 Trnava Abstract: We explore the
concept of post-modernity that is nowadays used to define a time period in
the human history we currently live in. After the short introduction of
selected theories of post-modernity we explore its relevance to the life of
young people, stressing the challenges they face in ordinary day-to-day
lives. The main framework for our exploration is built upon Giddens´s concept of reflexive project of self and Beck´s
concept of normal and choice biographies. We emphasise biographical approach
to the research of contemporary young people that enables us to identify
critical moments in their lives and to analyse them. At the end we present a framework of
ongoing research project that is based on theoretical analysis provided. Key words: young
people, post-modernity, biographical approach |

MANIPULÁCIA SO ZOOLOGICKÝM MATERIÁLOM A JEJ VPLYV NA POSTOJE KU
HMYZU U ŽIAKOV ZÁKLADNÝCH ŠKÔL
The impact of
handling zoologiacl materials on pupils´attitudes toward insects Radoslav Kvasničák, Katarína Korecová Katedra biológie,
Pedagogická fakulta, Trnavská univerzita v Trnave Priemyselná 4, 918 43 Trnava r.kvasnicak@gmail.com,
korecova.katarina@gmail.com Abstract: In the present research
we examined the impact of
handling biological objects on the primary school pupils' attitudes. As a
model object we selected insect representatives from terrestrial species of ants (Formicoidea). Biological
manipulation was complmented with species developmentally linked to the aquatic environment - ephemerids (Ephemeroptera). In our analyses we examined pupils'
attitudes toward insects in five dimensions (security, fear, gathering, farming, insect behavior) before (pre-test) and after implementation (post-test) of the experiment in urban and rural elementary schools. Their attitudes were tested on the base of a questionnaire consisting of 25 Likert scale-range statements (scale 1-5). The questionnaire before the experiment was reviewed by a number of experts and after testing showed a high value of reliability
(Cronbach's alpha>
0.7). We found out that after
handling biological objects the pupils'
attitudes toward insects showed demonstrably higher average values than before its
implementation. Similar statistically significant findings were confirmed also in their attitudes focused on fear of animals/insects,
where pupils after the experimental
impact showed lower average score than before
the experimental exposure. Keywords: attitudes, pupil, insects (Insecta), ephemerid (Ephemeroptera), ants (Formicidea) |
SCHOOL - (RE)CONSTRUCTION OF YOUNG PEOPLE´S KNOWLEDGE ABOUT DRUG ABUSE
Margaret Przybysz-Zaremba Assistant
Professor at the Institute of Pedagogy and Languages (Poland) Abstract: Drug abuse is one of kinds
of social pathologies, which is spreading gradually not only in the country,
but also abroad. The researches of
numerous authors indicate that there is an increase in the number of people who
take drugs – not only among these ones who live in big metropolitan areas,
but also more and more often these ones living in small towns or even villages. The school becomes the
main area on which more and more often drugs are distributed – even for
free. In this paper I present results
of the research, which were carried out among students of the middle school
in Pasłęk. The aim of the research was to get to
know what is the state of knowledge of young people about
the drug abuse and whether ways of construction (conveyance) of this
knowledge by the school are in accordance with the constructivist conception
of teaching. The analysis of conducted research indicates that school, as
professional institution does not provide their students with sufficient
knowledge concerning drug abuse. The preventive actions, which are conducted
by the institution are not the best way of
conveyance of such knowledge. The
school carries out mainly preventive programmes, which are based on the
information strategies and not constructivist ones – young people do not have
chance of experiencing, creating and going through the problem. Key words: constructivism, school,
drug abuse, drug abuse disease |

WITHOUT UPBRINGING THE TRUE CULTURE WILL NOT SURVIVE – REFLECTIONS (ON
THE OUTPUT) OF STEFAN SWIEŻAWSKI
Krzysztof Kamiński Pedagogy
Department, The Pedagogical Academy in Lodz ul. Żeromskiego 115, 90-542 Łódź, Poland Abstract: Stefan Swieżawski,
as a philosophy historian and Christian specialist in humanities, lays great stress
on the two particular issues: culture and upbringing. In terms of culture he
puts emphasis on the man’s development – the cultivation of man’s spiritual
powers: intellect and will. The culture understood as the cultivation of
human spirit (cultus animi),
appeals to such values as wisdom and love, and in a broader perspective
exceeds the consumerist-productive dimension: only the wise and
being-able-to-love man is truly cultured, even if they could not produce and
consume any cultural achievements. Swieżawski makes
many pedagogical remarks. He perceives upbringing as a fundamental
culture-creative factor, and in a wider perspective as an element humanizing
the contemporary world. The upbringing, according to Swieżawski,
is supposed to be accomplished unwaveringly, since early childhood.
Afterwards, it is the universities that matter greatly. In the context of the
deliberations it is the courage of genuine thinking that is a chief asset. Keywords: Culture, Christianity,
humanism, upbringing, education, cultus animi |
